ARCHIVES AND RESEARCH INTERN

Tshepiso Moropa is a contemporary artist and archivist based in Johannesburg. She works at the Archives and Research unit at the Market Photo Workshop, dealing with digital data, assisting with the various archives and research workshops and the digitization and physical archiving of previously exhibited work at the respective MPW galleries among other activities. In addition, she previously worked as the library assistant at the Market Theatre Foundation Library in 2019 till 2020.

Apart from archiving, Tshepiso is a visual artist that produces work in a variety of mediums including illustration, collage making, painting, photography and film. She has been featured within numerous exhibitions and publications and recently had her first solo exhibition “The Memory of Her in Me” at Madlozi Art Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Johannesburg in October 2020 and her second solo exhibition, “The Memory of Her in Me II” through the Latitudes Art Fair in December 2020.

Tshepiso currently holds a B.A Degree in Psychology and Linguistics from Wits University and is currently working towards an Honours degree in Psychology, focusing on abnormal psychology and hopes to become a Neuropsychologist in the near future.
