The Market Photo Workshop takes a firm approach to the sexual assault
The Market Photo Workshop has learnt of allegations of sexual assault concerning one of its educators. The letter was received via our student WhatsApp group and later shared on Twitter this morning; the victim is at this stage anonymous. We view the allegations very seriously and have given much consideration to the impact of these allegations for the alleged victim and alleged perpetrator, as well as our school community.
It is with this in mind that the Market Photo Workshop, a business unit of the Market Theatre Foundation, has decided to place the educator in question on precautionary leave while we explore legal advice. Even though the alleged assault did not happen on our premises and the alleged victim is not from the Market Photo Workshop community, we view this in its seriousness and encourage the victim to report the matter to the police.
The Market Theatre Foundation and all its business units have a zero-tolerance approach to all matters relating to gender-based violence.
