JOB PURPOSE
To facilitate teaching and learning by coordinating processes and people for successful realization of photography education outcomes of Market Photo Workshop two long photography courses, and of the broader MPW objectives. To contribute towards the development of curriculum documents, course outlines, courses scheduling, learning and teaching support material, monitoring implementation, and reviewing/evaluating courses to ensure best practice is servicing student photographers.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

■ Contribute to student recruitment processes and policies ■ Assist in identifying and contracting trainers (identifying skills and expertise relevant to the curriculum) ■ Engage with photography course outlines and curriculum documents to ensure ongoing relevance and appropriateness ■ Contribute to photography content development of curriculum and learning and teaching support materials ■ Manage course staff to ensure effective and efficient delivery of courses (training, tutoring, logistics, materials and equipment, trouble shooting, additional support for students, and administration) ■ Participate in curriculum and course review and evaluation (during and after courses, and in annual curriculum review meeting) ■ Manage any course-related projects (aligned with curriculum outcomes) ■ Monitor and report on course assessment ■ Monitor and report on course evaluation

KEY COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS:

■ Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience in learning and teaching environment ■ Grade 12 (Matric) ■ Diploma/degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Media & Journalism or equivalent ■ Experience in Education and training NGOs or similar would be advantageous ■ Leadership qualities■ Good understanding of Photography in South Africa, Africa and Globally ■ Excellent computer skills, both MAC and Windows -Understanding Photoshop, internet search and Emails ■ Ability to handle pressure ■ Communication skills ( Verbal & Written)■ Attention to detail ■ Committed to excellence in and relevance of photography education in South Africa ■ Passionate, Driven and Dynamic.
